Outreach Specialist 2 – Community Education & Engagement

About the role

The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Neurology seeks a full‑time Outreach Specialist 2 to design, implement, and manage public education and community outreach programs that promote brain health and research participation.

Key responsibilities

• Support development and execution of public education and outreach initiatives.
• Partner with community‑based organizations to plan and promote events that raise awareness of brain health services.
• Manage publishing tasks including writing, editing, budgeting, scheduling, and distribution of educational materials.
• Coordinate with external vendors such as advertising agencies, printers, and photographers.
• Prepare and distribute health‑education manuals and navigation guides.
• Identify and implement strategies to recruit participants for ongoing studies through active and passive outreach.
• Conduct brief surveys in person and by phone, and compile data for presentations.
• Build professional relationships with mental‑health providers, researchers, and community members.
• Collaborate on special projects, events, and outreach activities targeting diverse populations.
• Respond to non‑clinical inquiries via phone, email, and walk‑ins while adhering to university policies.
