Outpatient Pharmacist

About the role

This position supports a high‑volume outpatient pharmacy within a large public health system in Los Angeles County. The pharmacist will ensure safe medication dispensing, provide patient counseling, and collaborate with the care team to improve outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Verify prescriptions and dispense medications accurately.
• Counsel patients on proper medication use, side effects, and adherence.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other staff to optimize patient care.
• Maintain compliance with pharmacy regulations and operational standards.
• Support daily workflow and patient service initiatives in the outpatient setting.

Required profile

• Active California Pharmacist license.
• PGY1 residency or approximately two years of current pharmacy experience (minimum 1 + year).
• Strong communication and patient‑counseling abilities.
• Flexibility to work 8‑hour shifts, primarily days and evenings.
• Successful completion of a pharmacy competency exam and background screening.
