Oracle Cloud Accounts Payable Functional Lead

About the role

Next Generation, Inc is seeking an experienced Oracle Cloud Accounts Payable Functional Lead to drive AP functional activities for public sector clients. This hybrid position requires on‑site presence six days per month in the Northern Virginia/Washington DC area.

Key responsibilities

• Gather and analyze public‑sector business requirements for procure‑to‑pay and AP processes.
• Design and configure Oracle Cloud AP modules, including suppliers, invoices, payments, approvals, expense processing and reporting.
• Lead end‑to‑end implementation tasks such as system testing, UAT and go‑live support.
• Identify and implement process optimizations to improve invoice processing and payment cycles.
• Develop training materials, conduct sessions and provide post‑go‑live support.
• Collaborate with technical teams to ensure integration with GL, Procurement, Purchasing and Projects.
• Ensure compliance with public‑sector regulations and audit requirements.

Required profile

• 3–5+ years of experience with Oracle Accounts Payable and full lifecycle implementations.
• Demonstrated experience supporting public‑sector Oracle deployments (federal, state or local).
• Strong understanding of AP processes, supplier management, payments and expense handling.
• Excellent communication, analytical and problem‑solving abilities.

• Oracle Cloud Accounts Payable configuration.
• Oracle Cloud Financials – AP and General Ledger.
• Oracle Intelligent Document Recognition (IDR) implementation.
• Integration knowledge with Oracle GL, Procurement, Purchasing and Projects modules.
