Operator – Pipeline Operations

About the role

The Operator supports the safe and efficient operation of Southern Star’s natural gas transmission pipeline system. This entry‑level position provides hands‑on experience with routine mechanical repairs, preventative maintenance, and housekeeping across pipeline and compressor station sites.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with daily pipeline and compressor station operations and maintenance tasks.
• Perform basic electrical work, such as maintenance and replacement of single‑phase equipment, in accordance with NFPA 70E.
• Utilize company IT systems to record work, track compliance, and complete required documentation.
• Support safety programs, including defensive driving, first‑aid/CPR, and emergency procedure training.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, and company policies.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• Entry‑level experience or willingness to learn on the job.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to work in a physically demanding, onsite environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Basic electrical skills, specifically handling single‑phase equipment.
• Familiarity with standard IT systems for documentation and reporting.
• Basic safety training (defensive driving, first‑aid/CPR).
