Operations Leader

About the role

Petco is seeking an Operations Leader (Key Holder) to join the store leadership team. In this position you will ensure smooth daily operations, deliver exceptional customer service, and maintain a safe environment for pets, partners, and customers.

Key responsibilities

• Uphold Petco’s animal care standards, ensuring health, safety, and proper handling of all store animals.
• Promote a welcoming, safe atmosphere for pets, pet parents, and team members.
• Open and close the store, following cash‑handling, safety, and security protocols.
• Supervise and support store partners, fostering productivity and positive morale.
• Assist with training new partners and reinforce best practices on the sales floor.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing store environment.
• Follow all policies and procedures related to animal welfare, safety, and store operations.

Required profile

• Enthusiastic about leading on the floor and solving problems in real time.
• Strong commitment to pet welfare and customer experience.
• Ability to supervise, coach, and motivate a diverse team.
• Reliability in opening, closing, and handling cash responsibly.
