Operations Generalist

About the role

Security Level 5 is building the first datacenter dedicated to defending frontier AI models from nation‑state threats. As the second operations hire, you will own the internal processes that let the technical team focus on their mission.

Key responsibilities

• Find, lease, and set up a permanent San Francisco office, handling negotiations, build‑out, and ongoing facilities management.
• Design and run onboarding experiences, including hardware provisioning, account setup, and first‑week schedules.
• Coordinate with accountants, payroll/HR providers, and legal counsel to keep books, compliance, and payroll accurate.
• Develop and maintain internal policies (expenses, travel, security, document handling) as living documents used by the team.
• Choose, provision, and manage the SaaS stack, controlling access and spend.
• Organize regular team gatherings, happy hours, and off‑site events to strengthen culture.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience in operations, office management, executive support, or a similar role, preferably in a startup or high‑performing nonprofit.
• Proven ability to take loosely defined projects and deliver them end‑to‑end.
• Detail‑oriented, reliable, and trusted with sensitive information.
• Strong communication style that is transparent and information‑dense.
• Service‑mindset, comfortable handling repetitive tasks that have high impact.

What we offer

• Base salary ranging from $130,000 to $180,000 per year.
