Operations Engineer – Production

About the role

The Operations Engineer (Production) will support SpaceX’s Falcon and Dragon manufacturing programs. You will apply operations‑engineering, industrial‑engineering and data‑science techniques to improve production, testing, launch and recovery processes in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop analytical tools to evaluate delivery, capacity and cost challenges across production and supply‑chain functions.
• Collaborate on production‑strategy planning to mitigate risks and capture opportunities for quality, output, safety and cost improvements.
• Create and maintain process‑flow models that simulate system behavior and align output with other company functions.
• Identify operational bottlenecks, perform root‑cause analysis and implement corrective solutions.
• Define, track and report key performance indicators, highlighting decision points to meet demand.
• Drive continuous system and process enhancements across production elements.
• Work with cross‑functional partners in supply chain, engineering, operations and accounting to synchronize efforts.
• Capture best practices, manage organizational knowledge and document lessons learned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
• At least one year of experience using Excel, SQL, Python or R for dynamic‑system analysis or modeling.
• Ability to work extended hours in a high‑stress, fast‑moving environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
