Operational Excellence Co‑Op

About the role

This co‑op supports Business Excellence and continuous improvement initiatives across Johnson & Johnson's manufacturing operations in Wilson, NC. You will work with cross‑functional teams to identify and implement efficiency gains using Lean and Six Sigma tools.

Key responsibilities

• Support continuous improvement projects with Lean, Six Sigma, and Business Excellence methods.
• Assist in process mapping, value‑stream mapping, and identifying improvement opportunities.
• Help develop project plans, track progress, and maintain dashboards and scorecards.
• Participate in Kaizen events, brainstorming sessions, and Yellow Belt certification projects.
• Create training materials, standard work documents, and visual management tools.

Required profile

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (third‑year or beyond) with a minimum GPA of 2.8.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate with employees at all levels and work effectively in a cross‑functional team.

Required skills

• Basic understanding of Lean and Six Sigma concepts.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Visio.
• Familiarity with statistical tools such as Minitab (a plus).
