Operating Room Registered Nurse (FT Days)

About the role

AdventHealth is hiring a full-time, day-shift Registered Nurse for its Operating Room in Avista, Colorado. The position offers a $10,000 sign-on bonus for eligible full-time candidates, plus specialty pay, and pays between $35.39 and $65.82.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate patients' conditions and needs and develop individualized care plans
• Develop and implement care plans with the interdisciplinary team and monitor patient progress
• Administer medications and treatments safely, and perform interventions such as IVs, wound care, catheterization and specimen collection
• Maintain sterile environments and follow infection prevention protocols
• Document care activities accurately and educate patients and families
• Advocate for patient safety and take part in quality improvement initiatives

Required profile

• Associate's degree in nursing (Bachelor's preferred)
• At least 1 year of medical-surgical experience (1 year of surgery experience preferred)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and RN license; additional licensure may depend on the unit or state
• Proficiency in English and ability to communicate effectively

Required skills

• EMR charting and EHR systems (preferred)
• Knowledge of equipment and procedures such as IV pumps, glucose monitors and I-STAT
• Nursing skills specific to the specialty (preferred)
