Open Rank Tenure-Track/Tenured Professor – College of Nursing

About the role

The Florida State University College of Nursing is seeking multiple 9‑ or 12‑month tenure‑track or tenured faculty members. Candidates will join a nationally recognized program with state‑of‑the‑art simulation facilities and a strong research portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain an independent research program focused on health conditions, populations, or methodological expertise.
• Secure extramural funding from federal, state, industry, or foundation sources.
• Disseminate research through conference presentations, peer‑reviewed publications, and white papers.
• Teach research‑aligned courses to undergraduate, MSN, or DNP students.
• Provide service to the college, university, community, and the nursing profession.
• Mentor students and junior colleagues appropriate to academic rank.
• Participate actively in departmental and college meetings.

Required profile

• Earned doctorate from an accredited institution.
• Demonstrated record of research funding excellence.
• Evidence of teaching effectiveness in undergraduate, MSN, or DNP programs.
• For assistant professor candidates, clear potential for an independent research career; for associate/full professor candidates, strong funding, scholarly productivity, and leadership.
• Preferred: mentorship experience and prior federal grant awards.
