Open Rank Tenure-Track/Tenured Professor – 9 or 12 Month

About the role

The Florida State University College of Nursing is expanding its faculty and seeks open‑rank professors on a 9‑ or 12‑month salaried basis. Candidates will join a nationally recognized program known for research distinction, innovative education, and state‑of‑the‑art simulation facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and sustain a cohesive research program focused on health conditions, populations, or methodological expertise.
• Secure extramural funding from federal, state, industry, or foundation sources.
• Disseminate research findings through conference presentations, peer‑reviewed publications, and white papers.
• Design and teach research‑aligned courses for undergraduate, MSN, or DNP nursing students.
• Provide service to the college, university, community, and the nursing profession.
• Mentor students and junior colleagues appropriate to academic rank.
• Participate actively in departmental and team meetings.

Required profile

• Earned doctorate from an accredited university.
• Demonstrated record of research funding excellence and scholarly productivity.
• Proven teaching effectiveness in undergraduate, MSN, or DNP programs.
• For Assistant Professor level: clear potential for an independent research career.
• For Associate/Full Professor level: strong funding history, leadership, and extensive publications.
