About the role
The University of Arkansas School of Law seeks candidates for an open‑rank faculty position in Criminal Law. The appointment may be at the assistant, associate, or full professor level and is tenure‑track. The successful scholar will join a vibrant academic community dedicated to research, teaching, and public service.
Key responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in criminal law and related subjects.
- Develop and revise curriculum to reflect current legal developments.
- Supervise student research, theses, and law review activities.
- Maintain an active research agenda, publish scholarly work, and seek external funding.
- Participate in departmental, university, and professional service activities.
Required profile
- Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent law degree; a Ph.D. or equivalent scholarly credentials are preferred.
- Demonstrated excellence in legal scholarship and a strong record of publications in criminal law.
- Experience teaching law courses at the university level or a clear potential to excel in the classroom.
