About the role
The Dean of the School of Law provides visionary academic leadership for the University of Arkansas’s law program. Reporting to the Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, the Dean oversees all aspects of legal education, research, and community engagement.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement the strategic plan for the School of Law, aligning with university goals.
- Lead faculty recruitment, retention, and professional development.
- Manage the school’s budget, resource allocation, and fundraising initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with accreditation standards and promote scholarly excellence.
- Foster relationships with alumni, legal professionals, and external partners.
- Oversee curriculum development, student affairs, and experiential learning opportunities.
Required profile
- Doctor of Jurisprudence (J.D.) or equivalent terminal law degree.
- Significant experience in legal academia, including senior administrative roles.
- Demonstrated record of scholarship, teaching, and service.
- Strong leadership, communication, and collaborative skills.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in legal education.
