About the role

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Miami is seeking open‑rank, tenure‑track faculty members. Successful candidates will launch independent research programs, teach undergraduate and graduate courses, and contribute to the department’s growth and visibility.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and lead a research agenda in one of the strategic thrust areas (AI‑powered microchips, robotics, quantum technologies, cybersecurity).
• Secure external funding and publish high‑impact research results.
• Teach and mentor students at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
• Participate in curriculum development and departmental service.
• Collaborate with faculty across the College of Engineering, the Miller School of Medicine, and other university units.

Required profile

• PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related discipline.
• Demonstrated potential for high‑quality research and a strong publication record.
• Ability to teach effectively and mentor students.
• Interest in interdisciplinary collaboration and early‑ to mid‑career scholars ready to accelerate department growth.
