Open Rank Clinical Professor – Physician Assistant Program

About the role

The Department of Medical Sciences at Northeastern University seeks an Open Rank Clinical Professor to serve as a principal faculty member in the Physician Assistant Program on the Seattle campus. This non‑tenure‑track, 52‑week position involves teaching, curriculum development, student mentorship, and program administration.

Key responsibilities

• Teach didactic courses and lead small‑group discussions, simulation labs, and skills labs.
• Develop, review, and revise program mission, goals, competencies, and curriculum.
• Serve on the admissions committee and evaluate student performance.
• Participate in clinical site development, monitoring, and quality‑improvement activities.
• Advise, mentor, and support student retention and academic progression.

Required profile

• Master’s degree related to physician assistant practice or education.
• Current NCCPA certification and eligibility for Washington state licensure.
• Minimum three years of clinical practice experience.
• Experience in PA education (lecturer, preceptor, or core faculty).
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
