About the role
The Division of Pediatrics at the University of Miami seeks an Open Rank Clinical Faculty member specializing in Pediatric Cardiology. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive care for children and young adults with congenital and acquired heart disease, with a focus on heart failure, transplantation, and mechanical circulatory support.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver outpatient, emergency, inpatient, and intensive care services across UM satellite and Jackson Health System sites.
- Participate in peri‑operative evaluation and management of patients undergoing cardiac surgery or catheterization.
- Lead care for advanced heart failure, cardiomyopathies, ventricular dysfunction, and post‑transplant patients.
- Serve as attending physician for the Pediatric Heart Failure, Transplant, and MCS service, including ECMO and VAD management.
- Collaborate with cardiac surgery, critical care, and transplant anesthesia teams.
- Provide consultative support in PICU, NICU, and general pediatric units.
- Engage in clinical research, quality improvement, and academic teaching of students, residents, and fellows.
- Contribute to program development, transition‑to‑adult‑care pathways, and outreach initiatives.
Required profile
- MD or DO degree with completion of an ACGME‑accredited Pediatric Cardiology fellowship.
- Additional fellowship training or demonstrated expertise in heart failure, heart transplantation, and mechanical circulatory support.
- Board certification or eligibility in Pediatric Cardiology.
