Oncology Nursing Supervisor - Genitourinary Cancer Clinic

About the role

UT Southwestern Medical Center is hiring an Oncology Nursing Supervisor for its Genitourinary Cancer Clinic at the Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center in Dallas, Texas. The supervisor oversees and manages daily patient care services, supports nursing staff and helps set patient care standards.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and teach others the specialized knowledge and skills needed for techniques and routines in the specialty
• Provide operational management of daily patient care services
• Assess, monitor and evaluate systems for delivery of care
• Assist in developing patient care standards of practice and personnel performance
• Design, execute and deliver an internal control system compliant with laws, regulations and internal policies
• Facilitate teamwork through workshops, seminars and staff meetings
• Supervise nursing staff and/or other non-licensed medical or office support personnel
• May provide direct patient care and perform other duties as assigned

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• 5 years of general nursing experience, including 1 year of supervisory experience
• Registered Nurse (RN) licensure by the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners upon hire
• BLS certification upon hire
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree (BSN) and less than 1 year of oncology experience
