Oncology Nurse Surveyor

About the role

The Oncology Nurse Surveyor (RN Field Representative) travels nationwide to evaluate acute‑care facilities for compliance with Joint Commission standards. This position blends clinical expertise with quality‑assurance leadership to ensure safe, high‑quality oncology care.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct on‑site surveys of health‑care organizations, observing clinical processes and emergency procedures.
• Apply systems analysis and inductive reasoning to assess compliance with applicable standards.
• Engage staff in interactive dialogues to identify compliance gaps and improvement opportunities.
• Prepare detailed management reports linking deficiencies to system vulnerabilities and organizational risk.
• Communicate findings constructively to senior leadership.
• Participate in additional Joint Commission activities as assigned.

Required profile

• Graduate of an approved nursing school with a Master’s degree in a relevant discipline.
• Current, unrestricted RN license.
• Minimum five years recent health‑care experience, including three years direct clinical oncology care.
• At least two years in accreditation, certification leadership, or senior management.
• Direct involvement in two Joint Commission surveys.
• Strong critical‑thinking, problem‑solving, interpersonal, interviewing, teamwork, communication, and organizational abilities.
