On-Site Clinical Nurse Navigator

About the role

An oncology nurse navigator (ONN) is a registered nurse with oncology-specific clinical knowledge who helps patients, families and caregivers overcome healthcare system barriers. The role supports organizational strategies across the cancer care continuum, including navigation program development, marketing, outreach and cancer survivorship planning. The position is based on site and requires travel of 26-50%, with remote work possible.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate the care of patients with a past, current or potential cancer diagnosis in line with NCCN guidelines, and extend services to nutrition, home health, DME and hospice
• Provide education and resources so patients can make informed decisions and access quality health and psychosocial care
• Ensure effective communication and customer service, share quarterly patient services data with the director, and take part in accreditation committees
• Work with healthcare providers on potential clinical trials, screen and consent patients, and help start trials including regimen requests and blinded study requirements
• Support outreach programs, coordinate specialty infusion services with a lay navigator, and provide advanced care planning education and documentation
• Help lay navigators, provide cancer survivorship planning, and share up-to-date marketing materials with providers, patients and families

Required profile

• Associate degree in Nursing (BSN preferred)
• At least 5 years of oncology nursing experience; clinical trial experience preferred
• Registered Nurse and OCN certification required; BLSONN certification preferred
• Valid driver's license and compliance with the company driver safety and motor vehicle records check policy
• Able to work in a fast-paced, multi-site environment and to work remotely when required
