Occupational Therapist PRN (Weekends)

About the role

AdventHealth is hiring a part-time, PRN Occupational Therapist for weekend shifts at its Shawnee Mission facility. The therapist evaluates and treats patients as medically prescribed, within hospital standards and in line with corporate compliance and local, state and federal regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate and re-evaluate patients using recommended techniques and standards.
• Establish, implement and adapt individualized treatment plans, including goal setting, treatment activities and frequency.
• Document assessments and plans accurately, completely and on time, using measurable and objective terminology.
• Identify needs for patient and caregiver education and use teaching opportunities, including discharge recommendations.
• Discharge patients when maximum benefit is achieved or according to standards of practice and payer guidelines.

Required profile

• Occupational Therapist license required, or Occupational Therapist temporary license required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in conversational English.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time and adapt to a fast-paced healthcare environment.
• Ability to build positive working relationships and deliver compassionate, patient-centered care.
• Education requirements follow applicable licensing standards; a Master's degree in Occupational Therapy is preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook and Windows.
• Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.

What we offer

• PRN pay of $55 per hour, with a weekend differential of an additional $2.25 per hour.
• Minimum of 2 weekend days per 4-week rotation.
• Pay range listed as $32.26 to $60.01.
