Occupational Therapist – Inpatient Rehab

About the role

The Occupational Therapist will join the MMS Rehab OT Inpatient team at Martin Hospital South, providing comprehensive OT services to patients of all ages with a variety of functional limitations. The position works daytime shifts with flexible start/end times and includes weekend coverage on a rotating schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate patients and develop individualized treatment plans based on functional, musculoskeletal, and sensorimotor assessments.
• Deliver therapeutic interventions including P/ROM, joint mobilization, massage, myofascial release, desensitization, dressing changes, and job simulation.
• Apply thermal and electrical modalities such as hot/cold packs, fluidotherapy, paraffin baths, ultrasound, phonophoresis, TENS, NMES, HVPGS, iontophoresis, and biofeedback.
• Fabricate custom splints, select adaptive equipment, and train patients in their use.
• Document progress, communicate with interdisciplinary team, and provide status reports to referring physicians.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctoral degree from an accredited OT program.
• Current Occupational Therapist license in the State of Florida.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb, work in air‑conditioned and clinical environments, and follow standard precautions.
