Occupational Therapist - Full-Time

About the role

Rehab United is a family-owned private practice offering physical therapy, occupational therapy, massage/wellness and fitness services across seven clinic locations in San Diego County. It is looking for an upbeat, friendly, dedicated and results-driven Occupational Therapist to help patients regain independence and improve their quality of life. The successful candidate will train initially at the Kearny Mesa facility and then split time between Kearny Mesa and another clinic depending on clinic needs.

Key responsibilities

• Assess patients' physical and cognitive abilities, their environment and their activities of daily living (ADLs)
• Develop individualized treatment plans using hand therapy and neurological rehabilitation techniques
• Educate patients and their caretakers on symptom management and ways to improve outcomes
• Collaborate with physicians and physical therapists to provide comprehensive care
• Monitor progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
• Maintain accurate patient records in line with company and insurance standards

Required profile

• Occupational Therapy license: national registration and California state licensure are required
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
• CPR/First Aid certification required; Hand Therapy certifications desired
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and continued education

Required skills

• Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology and biomechanics, especially of the upper extremity
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, working well in a team

What we offer

• Pay of $36.00-$55.00 per hour, commensurate with prior experience as a licensed therapist; after 90 days the position becomes salaried exempt if California criteria are met
