Occupational Therapist Assistant

About the role

Join Cleveland Clinic Martin Health as an Occupational Therapist Assistant, providing therapeutic services to patients of all ages across physical, cognitive, and mental health domains. This PRN position works up to 24 hours per week, primarily on Wednesdays and Saturdays, with flexibility for additional days.

Key responsibilities

• Administer patient‑centered occupational therapy treatment under the supervision of a licensed OT, using evidence‑based practices.
• Communicate changes in patient status promptly to the primary therapist.
• Act as a clinical instructor or participate in the education and evaluation of students.
• Support volunteers, observers, and other professional staff through interdepartmental education.
• Supervise support personnel while retaining responsibility for patient care.

Required profile

• Associate’s degree or certificate from an OTA program accredited by the American Occupational Therapy Association.
• Current state licensure as an Occupational Therapy Assistant.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance meeting policy requirements.

Required skills

• Ability to walk without assistive device and maintain balance while supporting patients.
• Physical capacity to lift and reach patients’ extremities during therapy.
• Manual dexterity and visual acuity to assess muscle tension, pulse, and motor movements.
• Clear verbal communication for patient instruction and effective listening.
