Occupational Nurse

About the role

The Occupational Nurse at Bayer provides professional nursing care to ensure the comfort and well‑being of employees at the Luling site. The role blends clinical duties with administrative responsibilities to support Bayer’s occupational health services and overall health, safety, and environmental goals.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care, assist physicians during examinations and treatments, and administer prescribed medications.
• Change dressings, prepare and maintain patient clinical records.
• Develop and implement preventive health‑care programs for employees.
• Maintain inventory levels for medicines, supplies, and equipment.
• Manage Occupational Medicine programs to ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, ADA, and Bayer policies.
• Oversee medical surveillance, including screening of at‑risk workers and follow‑up of examination results.
• Coordinate fitness‑for‑duty assessments (pre‑placement, periodic, return‑to‑work, substance‑abuse compliance) with HR and risk‑management teams.
• Collaborate on medical emergency and first‑aid response plans, including bloodborne pathogen and contagious‑disease exposure prevention.

Required profile

• Experience executing clinical and managerial aspects of occupational health programs.
• Ability to balance clinical duties with administrative tasks while maintaining compliance.
• Strong collaboration skills with North America Occupational Medicine teams and site management.
