OB/GYN Physician

About the role

Petaluma Health Center is hiring a full-time OB/GYN to provide quality obstetric and gynecologic care in a compassionate environment. The physician works as an integral part of the Medical staff, taking part in strategic initiatives and other duties as assigned, including hospital call, supervision of CNM and FP-OB staff, and assignments to outside locations within the PHC federal scope such as satellite clinics.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat patients with obstetric and gynecologic issues according to ACOG standards, and evaluate women referred for gynecology issues
• Diagnose pregnancy and perform initial and subsequent prenatal exams following ACOG protocols for routine and high-risk pregnancies
• Provide comprehensive care for women with reproductive and genitourinary concerns, including preventive, maintenance and acute care
• Provide after-hours coverage including nights and weekends as required
• Consult with other Petaluma Health Center clinicians on OB/GYN care and give continuing medical education to providers at least twice a year
• Supervise Certified Nurse Midwives' management of obstetrical care and labor management
• Take part in in-services, provider meetings, performance improvement meetings and other assigned activities
• Maintain active hospital privileges in good standing and all certifications, CME hours and department attendance

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited OB/GYN residency program; 2-4 years of post-residency experience preferred
• Licensed to practice medicine in California and board certified by the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology
• Eligible for and maintains admitting privileges at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital and meets PHC's credentialing and privileging requirements
• Bilingualism in English and Spanish, written and verbal, preferred but not required
