Nurse Practitioner Neuroscience

About the role

AdventHealth is hiring a Nurse Practitioner Neuroscience for its Celebration facility in Florida. The role provides nursing and medical inpatient and outpatient services within the scope of licensure and the Collaborative Practice Agreement, and covers clinical management of neurosurgical and neurological patients in the ICU, including invasive hemodynamic and intraventricular monitoring such as cerebrospinal fluid drainage.

Key responsibilities

• Perform advanced patient assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
• Manage and evaluate diagnostic and treatment regimens, and interpret lab, electrographic and radiologic findings
• Evaluate the effectiveness of interventions against patient outcomes and respond to life-threatening emergencies
• Educate patients and families and assess discharge needs and outpatient follow-up
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team, and take part in team conferences and quality improvement
• Maintain accurate documentation, progress notes and order entry
• Provide clinical leadership, mentorship and contribute to evidence-based practice

Required profile

• Master's degree in Nursing
• Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license (required)
• At least 1 year of experience with intra-ventricular device monitoring, drainage and management (required)
• At least 1 year of experience with endovascular patient management (preferred)

Required skills

• ACLS certification (required)
• BLS/CPR certification (required)
• PALS certification preferred
• NRP certification preferred
• Certified Neuroscience RN (CNRN) preferred
