Nurse Manager – Pre/PACU (Doral)

About the role

The University of Miami Health System in Doral is seeking a full‑time Nurse Manager for its Pre‑operative and Post‑Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). This leader will oversee daily operations, ensure high‑quality patient care, and support staff development within the peri‑operative services.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee patient flow and coordinate care across designated clinical areas.
• Develop, update, and enforce nursing policies, procedures, and operational guidelines.
• Ensure compliance with state nursing regulations, hospital standards, and governing agency requirements.
• Recruit, select, orient, and train nursing and auxiliary staff.
• Assign nursing duties, coach, counsel, and discipline employees as needed.
• Provide emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients and families.
• Promote patient independence through education and counseling.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to resolve patient needs.
• Maintain a safe, clean work environment and implement related procedures.
• Collect and analyze performance data to drive quality improvement.
• Ensure staff meet continuing education and competency requirements.
• Provide operational insights to nursing leadership for strategic planning.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse with experience in peri‑operative or PACU settings.
• Demonstrated leadership and staff management abilities.
• Strong knowledge of nursing standards, state board regulations, and patient safety protocols.
• Excellent communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.
