Nuclear Facility Regulatory and Operations Specialist

About the role

Strata-G seeks an experienced Nuclear Facility Regulatory and Operations Specialist to support NRC‑licensed reactors, nuclear fuels, and other licensed facilities. The role involves on‑site technical support, risk assessment, and regulatory compliance to protect public health, safety, and the environment.

Key responsibilities

• Examine nuclear plant equipment, monitor control‑room operations, and review technical records for NRC compliance.
• Perform risk‑informed inspections, identify safety or engineering vulnerabilities, and prioritize corrective actions.
• Respond to live plant issues, providing real‑time expertise to senior agency management.
• Draft quarterly public reports summarizing inspection findings and regulatory violations.
• Lead regulatory meetings with plant executives and interface with local officials and the public.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or a related scientific field.
• 10+ years of experience in nuclear power plant operations, commercial nuclear systems, or the U.S. Nuclear Navy.
• Ability to wear protective gear, access high‑consequence containment areas, and work flexible cross‑shift schedules.
• Eligibility to obtain a Q clearance if required.

Required skills

• Expertise in NRC licensing and Agreement State programs.
• Familiarity with NQA‑1 and 10 CFR Parts 50/51/52/53/70/71/72.
• Strong analytical thinking and technical writing capabilities.
