Nocturnist Hospitalist - Neurosurgery

About the role

The Department of Neurosurgery at Thomas Jefferson University is seeking a dedicated Nocturnist Hospitalist to join its team at the Jefferson Hospital for Neuroscience (JHN) in Philadelphia, PA. The Nocturnist provides overnight inpatient care, admissions and clinical support for neurosurgical patients, helping maintain continuity of care and patient safety during night hours.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct overnight inpatient care for neurosurgery patients at JHN
• Perform admissions, medical management and cross-coverage
• Collaborate with neurosurgery residents, advanced practice providers and attending neurosurgeons
• Deliver high-quality, evidence-based patient care focused on safety and outcomes
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and departmental meetings

Required profile

• MD or DO degree
• Board certified or board eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
• Eligible for medical licensure in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
• Previous hospitalist or nocturnist experience preferred
• Strong interest in academic medicine and multidisciplinary collaboration
