Night Operations Assistant Store Manager in Training

About the role

The Home Depot is hiring a Night Operations Assistant Store Manager in Training (NOASM-IT) for its Southport store. This is a training position of up to 6 weeks, with hands-on experience, mentorship and leadership development. Trainees learn the duties of a Manager on Duty and focus on overseeing overnight freight operations, working closely with Night Replenishment Managers, the Store Manager, Assistant Store Managers and field teams.

Key responsibilities

• Customer experience: supervise associates in the selling effort, drive customer service and engagement, and resolve customer concerns promptly.
• Operations management: run opening and closing procedures, follow company policies, command store SOPs (especially safety compliance) and reduce shrink.
• Safety: ensure self and associates follow safety and hazmat procedures and Safety Matters guidelines.
• Sales and productivity: help plan merchandise placement and stock integrity, learn to operate store equipment and systems and manage daily financial operations.
• Training: complete a structured program covering operations, customer service, sales and profitability, staffing and scheduling, performance management and the associate disciplinary process, plus all assigned modules and assessments.

Required profile

• Able to work in the United States and at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED; a bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field is preferred.
• At least 3 years of work experience and 3 years of leadership experience preferred.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams; action-oriented, customer-focused, resourceful and results-driven.

Reporting to the Store Manager with no direct reports, the role involves occasional overnight travel (less than 5%) and intermittent physical activity such as lifting and standing. Working conditions are indoors and generally comfortable.
