Neuroscience Summer Student Position (Volunteer)

About the role
The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is offering a volunteer summer student position in neuroscience. Selected students will join one of three research labs to gain hands‑on experience in neurobiology and developmental science.
Key responsibilities
- Assist researchers in Dr. Kim Stephens', Dr. Gwen Childs', or Dr. Angela Odle's labs.
- Perform laboratory tasks such as sample preparation, data collection, and basic analysis.
- Follow safety and protocol guidelines, including COVID‑19 vaccination requirements.
- Participate in lab meetings and contribute to ongoing research projects.
Required profile
- Current undergraduate or graduate student eligible for a pre‑arranged summer placement.
- Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of the assignment.
- Fully vaccinated against COVID‑19 or have an approved medical/religious exemption.
