Neuroscience Summer Student Position (Volunteer)

About the role

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is offering a volunteer summer student position in neuroscience. Selected students will join one of three research labs to gain hands‑on experience in neurobiology and developmental science.

Key responsibilities

• Assist researchers in Dr. Kim Stephens', Dr. Gwen Childs', or Dr. Angela Odle's labs.
• Perform laboratory tasks such as sample preparation, data collection, and basic analysis.
• Follow safety and protocol guidelines, including COVID‑19 vaccination requirements.
• Participate in lab meetings and contribute to ongoing research projects.

Required profile

• Current undergraduate or graduate student eligible for a pre‑arranged summer placement.
• Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of the assignment.
• Fully vaccinated against COVID‑19 or have an approved medical/religious exemption.
