Neuro PCU RN Nights Contract

About the role

AdventHealth is hiring a Night Shift Registered Nurse for its Neuro PCU unit in Daytona Beach, Florida, on a flexible contract basis. The schedule is 36 hours per week, with PRN shifts and guaranteed hours. StaffFlex nurses can work contract assignments at one facility or float within multiple hospitals across 9 states.

Key responsibilities

• Assess patients, analyze assessment data and develop individualized, evidence-based plans of care
• Implement interventions safely and document them, and collect and document patient health data
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed and follow hospital policy for admission, discharge and transfer
• Educate patients and families on conditions, procedures and care plans
• Participate in peer interviewing and review, and contribute to quality, safety and effectiveness initiatives
• Act as a patient advocate and ensure safe handoff communication and documentation
• Follow CDC isolation guidelines, use PPE correctly and perform hand hygiene

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (RN)
• 2+ years of nursing experience in an acute hospital setting
• Associate's degree in Nursing (required); Bachelor's degree preferred
• Fluent in English (reading, speaking and writing)
• BLS/CPR certification (required); TNCC certification preferred
• Additional licensure or certification may apply depending on unit or state

Required skills

• High-level abstract reasoning to assess patients and revise plans of care
• Basic computer skills, navigating Microsoft Windows programs
