Network Engineer (5+ Years Experience)

About the role

The law offices of Marshall Dennehey, a leading defense firm, is seeking a Network Engineer for its Philadelphia, PA office. The role supports, implements and maintains the firm's systems and network infrastructure, keeping servers, storage, firewalls and network security stable, secure and efficient across multiple locations.

Key responsibilities

• Support, implement and maintain LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN and SD-WAN environments.
• Configure and manage Cisco switches, Palo Alto firewalls, NetScaler load balancers and Meraki wireless access points.
• Monitor network and system performance, troubleshoot connectivity, latency and bandwidth issues, and respond promptly to alerts.
• Provide secondary support for the Exchange online email environment, including Mimecast email security.
• Maintain storage infrastructure (HPE Alletra, StoreOnce, Dell Compellent, Synology).
• Manage Microsoft Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and Group Policy; support Azure, Entra, MFA and enterprise applications.
• Administer Windows servers and Hyper-V, including clusters and replication.
• Administer Veeam backup and recovery for on-premises and cloud environments.
• Support data center operations: power distribution, UPS, rack power and cooling, and equipment installation, racking, stacking and decommissioning.
• Take part in application and development project upgrades, and oversee network and endpoint managed security products, including security testing and remediation.
• Advise management on future projects and budgets, perform firmware upgrades, patch management and network capacity planning, and keep technical documentation in Visio, Excel and Word.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of network engineering experience in enterprise environments.
• Experience supporting data center infrastructure and cloud networking such as Azure.
• Previous experience in a legal environment preferred but not required.
• Hybrid work: office in Philadelphia and remote, with flexible hours for maintenance and upgrades, and occasional travel to branch offices and data centers.
• Able to provide after-hours support for emergencies.
