About the role

The Financial Empowerment Associate is an 11‑month volunteer position supporting newly arrived refugee clients in Atlanta. Working alongside IRC Financial Coaches, the associate delivers financial education, counseling, and loan‑support services to help clients achieve economic self‑sufficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct one‑to‑one financial assessments at intake and follow‑up (six months later).
• Assist clients in creating household budgets and provide budgeting strategies.
• Provide individualized financial counseling in partnership with Financial Coaches.
• Design and deliver group workshops on banking, budgeting, credit building, and related topics for youth and adults.
• Support loan application processes and financial literacy initiatives.
