Music Therapist / Behavioral Health Counselor – GA Regional Hospital

About the role

The State of Georgia is seeking a qualified Music Therapist/Behavioral Health Counselor to join the team at Georgia Regional Hospital in Savannah. Under general supervision, you will provide counseling and music‑based therapeutic services aimed at prevention, behavior modification, and overall mental health improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver individual and group music therapy sessions to promote mental and emotional well‑being.
• Provide counseling focused on addiction, substance abuse, family dynamics, parenting, marital issues, suicide prevention, stress management, self‑esteem, and aging‑related concerns.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary staff to develop and implement treatment plans.
• Maintain accurate documentation of client progress and therapy outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with licensing, certification, and state regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in a related field from an accredited institution, OR a Bachelor’s degree with two years of relevant experience, OR one year of experience at the lower‑level Behavioral Health Counselor 1 (HCP100) or equivalent.
• Current licensure or certification that permits practice within the State of Georgia.
• Preferred: Licensed Music Therapist.
• Ability to pass required drug screening, TB test, annual influenza vaccination, and background checks.
