Municipal Engineer – Public Works

About the role

The City of Lone Tree seeks a motivated Engineer to support development review, field inspection, and capital project delivery. You will work across multiple city departments to ensure safe, connected, and resilient infrastructure for the community.

Key responsibilities

• Review civil plans, drainage, traffic studies and permits, providing written comments and tracking approvals.
• Perform construction and storm‑water inspections, document deficiencies, and prepare punch lists and acceptance recommendations.
• Conduct grading, erosion and sediment control (GESC) inspections and support MS4 permit compliance.
• Manage assigned capital projects from scoping through design, procurement, construction and close‑out, including cost estimating and schedule tracking.
• Coordinate with operations, utilities and partner agencies to resolve infrastructure conflicts and communicate project status to staff, residents and businesses.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management or a related field.
• Minimum three years of municipal engineering experience; five or more years preferred.
• Engineer Intern certification or Professional Engineer licensure (preferred).
• Valid driver’s license.
