Multimodality Technologist, CT/R (Zale) - $10K Bonus

About the role

UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas is hiring a Multimodality Technologist (CT/R) for its Zale department. The technologist works under minimal supervision with physicians to perform exams, protocols, accreditation, operations and equipment maintenance across MRI, CT, ultrasound, mammography and/or diagnostic imaging. The shift runs Wednesday to Friday, 10 AM to 11 PM, and the position carries a $10,000 sign-on bonus.

Key responsibilities

• Review physician orders for accuracy, diagnosis, sedation and applicability to the imaging protocol, screen patients for contrast allergies, contraindications, implants and metallic devices, and discuss findings with the radiologist
• Interview patients, explain procedures, administer oral and/or IV contrast, observe for adverse reactions and assist the physician during procedures
• Complete exam charges and image documentation, and perform post-processing such as MIP, MPR, 3D rendering, cardiac analysis and diffusion mapping
• Perform daily and monthly quality control testing, follow archiving standards, and place service calls for equipment
• Take part in accreditation, train new hires and students, and communicate shift hand-offs and workload distribution
• May also carry out research duties involving human subjects or their records

Required profile

• Graduate of an AMA-approved school
• BLS certification (AHA or ARC) by the first day of employment
• ARRT registration in radiography, CT, MRI, mammography, breast sonography or another modality, licensed by the Texas Medical Board (MRI excluded)
• Preferred: 2 years of related experience
• Able to lift 40-50 lbs; clinical setting in a hospital
