Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician

About the role

Amerex, a global leader in fire suppression products owned by McWane, Inc., is hiring a Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician in Trussville. The technician minimizes downtime by performing all necessary preventative and corrective maintenance while following safety and environmental guidelines.

Key responsibilities

• Complete preventative maintenance on equipment and machinery.
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment, electric controls, panel construction, wiring, hydraulics, pneumatics, plumbing and soldering, and use hand tools and shop equipment.
• Safely modify and install energy control devices.
• Monitor equipment and operations to meet quality and safety standards.
• Comply with lockout/tagout (LOTO), confined space, respirator and other applicable procedures.
• Follow diagrams, operations manuals, manufacturer instructions and engineering specifications.
• Locate problem sources by observation, listening, talking to operators and using precision measuring and testing equipment.
• Maintain maintenance supplies and keep technical and professional knowledge current.
• Provide direction and information to customers and resolve design concerns, and perform accurate administrative paperwork.

Required profile

• At least 18 years old and eligible to work in the United States.
• High school diploma or equivalent; a technical degree or three years of multi-craft maintenance experience is required.
• Able to pass a post-offer drug test, background check and fitness review.
• Ability to work in seasonal high temperatures and humidity in a conditioned-air environment.
• Frequent lifting of materials up to 50 lbs, standing and walking for up to three hours, bending, climbing ladders and reaching.
• Close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word and Excel.
• Good written and verbal communication, spelling and grammar.
• Attention to detail and self-motivation.
