MRI Technologist II

About the role

Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking an MRI Technologist II to operate magnetic resonance imaging equipment in a full‑service hospital setting. The role involves direct patient care for high‑acuity cases, including emergency, inpatient, and outpatient services.

Key responsibilities

• Operate MRI scanners, computers, and image management systems to perform diagnostic exams.
• Perform contrast injections under radiologist supervision and ensure compliance with MRI safety protocols.
• Prepare, position, and educate patients, acquire high‑quality images, and submit them promptly to PACS.
• Assist with pre‑screening, scheduling, and maintaining a clean, orderly department.

Required profile

• High School Diploma/GED and graduation from an accredited radiology program.
• Ability to handle confidential medical information and exercise sound judgment with patients and equipment.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification (Pennsylvania) upon hire.
• State of Pennsylvania registration as RT, MR, or ARRT/MR technologist upon hire or within one year.

Required skills

• Proficiency in operating MRI equipment and performing contrast injections.
• Experience with PACS image submission and patient pre‑screening.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Registrations: RT – Registered Technologist Radiology, MR – Magnetic Resonance Imaging ARRT, ARMRIT – Registered Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist.
