Diagnostic Ultrasound & Vascular Technologist (RDMS/RVT II)

About the role

Lehigh Valley Health Network seeks a skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer / Registered Vascular Technologist to perform ultrasound and vascular examinations in a high‑acuity hospital setting. The role involves independent judgment, patient interaction, and collaboration with radiologists to deliver high‑quality diagnostic imaging.

Key responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures on vascular systems according to physician orders and established protocols.
• Assist with specialized exams, including advanced vascular studies and procedures using state‑of‑the‑art imaging equipment.
• Maintain quality control, participate in quality improvement activities, and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
• Coordinate imaging parameters and protocols with radiologists and help revise existing protocols for optimal test quality.
• Obtain and verify patient consents, produce diagnostic images, and prepare them for radiologist interpretation.

Required profile

• Graduate of an approved CAHEA diagnostic medical sonography program; ARDMS certification in good standing.
• Ability to reason logically, assess performance, and take corrective actions.
• Strong ethical handling of confidential medical information.
• Excellent customer service, written and verbal communication skills.

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (American Heart Association) within 30 days of hire.
