MOT Superintendent

About the role

The Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) Superintendent is a key field leader on the SR400 Express Lanes Project in Georgia. Working closely with the MOT Manager, construction teams, subcontractors and state agencies, you will ensure safe and compliant temporary traffic control throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise MOT field crews in installing, maintaining and removing traffic control devices such as signs, barrels, barricades, message boards and temporary barriers.
• Execute approved Traffic Control Plans (TCPs) and verify that all field setups meet plan specifications and GDOT standards.
• Coordinate daily lane closures, rolling closures, detours and traffic shifts with construction teams and the MOT Manager.
• Perform daily field inspections to confirm proper device placement, visibility and functionality.
• Respond promptly to emergency traffic control needs, incidents and real‑time plan adjustments.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading MOT or traffic control crews on large infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of MUTCD and GDOT temporary traffic control requirements.
• Ability to read and interpret Traffic Control Plans and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.

Required skills

• Installation and maintenance of temporary traffic control devices.
• Compliance with MUTCD standards.
• Understanding of GDOT traffic control regulations.
