Mortgage Collector

About the role

The Mortgage Collector is responsible for collecting past‑due payments on retail mortgage loans, managing delinquency, and protecting company assets while developing customer relationships to secure payments and advise borrowers on alternatives to foreclosure.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and use Signature, collections software, Nautilus system, and phone software to manage collections.
• Identify and resolve branch office collection issues and coordinate efforts with commercial collections and loss‑mitigation teams.
• Recommend accounts for foreclosure, short sale, deed‑in‑lie, or charge‑off and prepare loan modification or repayment plans.
• Obtain property reports, conduct title searches, and advise on related laws, regulations, and policies.
• Negotiate payment agreements, monitor progress, and maximize skip‑tracing methods.
• Ensure compliance with Northwest policies, federal and state regulations, and maintain accurate documentation for state credit agencies.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• 3‑5 years of customer service or administrative experience.
• Demonstrated problem‑solving, communication, and financial analysis skills.
• Knowledge of fair collections practices.
