Morning Shift Lifeguard

About the role

Under the supervision of the Aquatics Director, the Morning Shift Lifeguard guards the pool during opening hours (5:45 AM – Monday to Friday), ensuring patron safety and enforcing pool rules.

Key responsibilities

• Continuously scan the pool to prevent emergencies and respond immediately to incidents.
• Perform rescues, administer CPR, First Aid, and emergency oxygen as needed.
• Complete incident reports promptly and enforce pool rules.
• Assist with pool cleaning, testing, and ensure a safe environment when off‑duty.
• Participate in safety drills, trainings, and maintain clear communication with supervisors.

Required profile

• At least 18 years old with active lifeguard certifications (YMCA, Red Cross, etc.).
• Physical ability to scan the pool, stand for long periods, and lift up to 50 lb.
• Completion of required trainings within the first four weeks (Child Abuse Prevention, Workplace Respect, etc.).

Required skills

• Professional Lifeguard certification.
• CPR, First Aid, and emergency oxygen administration.
• Disappearing Dummies certification.
