Modeling and Simulation Engineer

About the role

APEX TK is seeking a highly motivated Modeling & Simulation Engineer to support a critical government client in the aerospace domain. You will work on cutting‑edge projects focused on Space Situational Awareness for the Intelligence Community and Department of Defense.

Key responsibilities

• Define modeling requirements from user needs and system architecture, and develop scripts to automate scenario modeling and performance analysis.
• Perform advanced modeling of orbital mechanics (orbit determination, maneuvering, flight dynamics) and sensor phenomenology (optics, radar, RF).
• Develop and use cutting‑edge tools and algorithms to address challenging Space Situational Awareness issues.
• Write code and scripts to create algorithms, perform analyses, and automate data processing for space conflict scenario evaluation.
• Collaborate with a team to study and analyze complex problems in the space domain, incorporating phenomenological modeling principles.

Required profile

• 2‑10 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field.
• Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with CI Poly.
• Experience in space‑related engineering analysis using programming or data tools.
• Solid understanding of orbital mechanics and space systems.
