Mobile Learning Lab Manager

About the role

Lamar Community College seeks a dynamic Mobile Learning Lab Manager to lead the design, implementation, and operation of its mobile learning laboratory. This full‑time, grant‑funded position supports regional industry training in manufacturing technology and offers the chance to shape workforce development initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the coordination and build‑out of the mobile learning lab, including equipment selection and transport planning.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly reports, track expenses, and compile outcome data for the project.
• Develop and manage inventories, procure supplies, and assist with budget development for equipment replacement and maintenance.
• Recruit faculty, design curriculum, and deliver professional development training for industry partners.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years experience in career‑technical education (CTE) or related industrial maintenance fields.
• Credentialed in a technical area such as welding, electrical systems, or renewable energy.
• Ability to obtain a valid CDL Class A license within three months of hire.
• Strong project‑management experience and ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Required skills

• CDL Class A license (or ability to obtain).
• Technical expertise in welding, electrical systems, renewable energy, HVAC, automotive maintenance, and forklift operation.
• Proficiency with CAD and PLC programming languages.
• Advanced MS Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
