Mill Machinist II – 2nd Shift

About the role

Moog’s Commercial Aircraft Group is seeking a skilled Mill Machinist II for the 2nd shift at its Buffalo, NY facility. In this position you will produce high‑precision components for flight‑critical control systems, contributing to the reliability and performance of commercial and business aircraft.

Key responsibilities

• Perform a full range of milling operations on various materials using vertical and tracer‑type milling machines.
• Set up, calibrate, and operate vertical mills, creating setups with specified equipment.
• Develop new machining methods and techniques as needed.
• Interpret engineering drawings, sometimes working without operation sheets, and create complex layouts.
• Inspect finished parts, identify defective material or components using inspection equipment, and report unusual conditions.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED preferred; ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English and perform basic arithmetic.
• Enrollment in Moog’s FAA Drug & Alcohol Program as required by FAA safety‑sensitive regulations.
• Minimum three years of experience as a precision machinist in a machine‑shop environment.
