Mid-Level Estimator – Water/Wastewater Projects

About the role

Stacy Witbeck is expanding its Water/Wastewater team in Southern California and seeks a mid‑level Estimator to join an employee‑owned, high‑performing group. You will prepare cost estimates for heavy civil public‑works projects ranging from $5 million to $250 million+, supporting successful bids on water, wastewater and storm‑water contracts.

Key responsibilities

• Perform take‑offs for civil, structural concrete, and mechanical equipment portions of estimates.
• Review specifications, schedules, and plans to develop work approaches, identify risks, and prepare pre‑bid questions and RFIs.
• Develop and submit cost estimates using HCSS software, including production rates, means‑and‑methods, and schedules.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers, evaluate quotations, and present estimate portions in internal reviews.

Required profile

• 5+ years of construction experience, preferably in heavy civil, water or wastewater projects.
• Knowledge of plan reading, take‑off processes, and construction means and methods.
• Ability to conduct site investigations on uneven terrain and occasional travel.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management preferred, though equivalent experience is acceptable.

• Primavera P‑6 scheduling.
• Bluebeam and Agtek for plan review.
• Take‑off and plan‑reading expertise.
