Microbiology Visiting Professor

About the role

Chamberlain University seeks a part‑time Visiting Professor to teach Fundamentals of Microbiology with Lab (BIOS‑242) to undergraduate BSN students on its Jacksonville campus. The position involves two days per week of combined lecture and laboratory instruction.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver a Covista‑approved syllabus that aligns with campus templates and course objectives.
• Prepare, update, and organize all lecture and lab materials, incorporating online technologies where appropriate.
• Deliver 3‑hour lectures and 3‑hour labs, ensuring clear communication and student engagement.
• Set and publish assignment, exam dates, and grading criteria; grade assessments fairly and provide timely feedback.
• Maintain compliance with institutional policies, accreditation standards, and any state licensing requirements.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in a relevant field with at least 18 graduate hours in microbiology.
• Demonstrated subject‑matter expertise and strong oral and written communication skills.
• Experience motivating and instructing diverse, non‑traditional student populations.
• Ability to work collegially with faculty and support collaborative campus initiatives.
