Metrology Analyst – Precision Inspection & Data Management

About the role

MANTECH is seeking a Metrology Analyst to perform precision metrology and inspections on target components for Department of Energy programs. This onsite position in Livermore, CA, involves working with advanced microscopy equipment and managing project deliverables.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct in‑process and final metrology using optical microscopes, white‑light interferometers, and laser confocal microscopes to verify sub‑micron specifications.
• Record and analyze process data in laboratory notebooks and digital spreadsheets, applying standard statistical methods.
• Write and maintain standard operating procedures, root‑cause investigation reports, and train team members on metrology processes.
• Position target components with custom fixtures, apply adhesives, verify geometry, and manage simple projects from start to finish.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) with at least 2 years of relevant metrology or precision‑assembly experience.
• Strong attention to detail, ability to identify non‑conforming specifications and suggest process improvements.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently to meet deadlines.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a DOE‑Q security clearance.
