MES Opcenter Solution Architect

About the role

Alcon is seeking an MES Opcenter Solution Architect to lead the design and implementation of advanced manufacturing execution systems in Fort Worth, Texas. The role focuses on aligning Opcenter solutions with business goals and driving digital transformation across the company’s manufacturing sites.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct fit‑gap analysis and design solutions based on Siemens Opcenter capabilities.
• Design and implement MES solutions to support manufacturing operations and digital transformation initiatives.
• Create business cases that highlight ROI and value propositions of Opcenter MES.
• Develop solution blueprints, data models, workflows, and UI mockups.
• Manage a common MES code base across globally distributed systems to ensure consistency.
• Collaborate with vendors, IT teams, and business stakeholders to ensure project alignment and execution.
• Translate business requirements into functional specifications and develop ISA‑95‑aligned workflows.
• Lead MES deployment projects, including configuration, testing, validation, and on‑call support for manufacturing sites.
• Provide technical guidance, training, and troubleshooting to maintain system stability and performance.
• Participate in incident, problem, change, and configuration management processes and support upgrades, enhancements, and GxP documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (or high school + 13 years, Associate + 9 years, M.S. + 2 years, PhD + 0 years).
• Fluent reading, writing, and communication in English.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in MES solution architecture.
• Strong interpersonal, analytical, and presentation skills.
• Experience working in a complex matrix organization.
